Good Start.
There is simply no better way to start the day than by drinking a lovely cup of coffee, tooling around on the computer and watching a male figure skater bust an ever-loving move to Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean".

I'm officially better than Satan.
To whom it may concern:
I just had to battle Satan, keeper of the Underworld, on Guitar Hero III and I kicked his butt. I shamed the prince of darkness and he had to throw down his guitar of bones and bow down to my awesome radicalness.
I'm like a holy warrior... of ROCK!!!

Atonement=Being EFFED in the brain with misery.
Ok, this here is a double post from Q and myself on our adventures her first night in The Burque. GET READY!!
First off, Atonement may be the most depressing movie ever made. We can't even really go into it. Let's just say that someone gets flushed to death. Seriously.
After we left the theatre, which is located in a somewhat dodgy part of town we came across three fellows, each with a dog in tow. The following is the conversation, verbatim, we had with them:
Guy 1: "You ladies know where we can get some rock?"
Earhart: "Excuse me?"
Guy 1: "Some rock!"
Guy 2: "Crack!!"
Earhart; "Are you serious?"
Guy 1: "A rock the size of my ear!!!"
Earhart and Q; "Ummm...no."
Guy 2: "Hey, you ladies wanna come to a slumber party?"
Earhart: "Ok, you guys have fun with your dogs!"
Earhart and Q: "Go! Run!"
Good times, good times...
P.S. Q wants me to mention that she would, in fact, go see The Great Debaters if someone bought her a pickle. I'm being completely serious.

"Turbulence is life force. It is opportunity. Let's love turbulence and use it for change."
-Ramsay Clark
As the year winds down I find myself, like everyone else, reflecting on the past 360 some odd days. Looking back to see what I've learned, how I've grown, ways that I've changed. 2007 was... a less than easy year and while I'll be glad to put this beast to bed, I'm also extraordinarily grateful for the things that have come to pass.
I've learned to be a bit more self reliant, to take a bit more responsibility, to forgive a little easier, to protect myself a bit better, to go after what I want. I've seen that with the people that really matter, time and distance will not affect us. I've experienced incredible love and support. I've forged friendships that mean the world to me and I've seen some others fall to the wayside.
I'm looking forward to what the New Year has in store. It seemed, for a moment that 2007 was wrapping up to be be one of my more craptacular years, but certain...surprises in the past few weeks have forced me to amend that belief. I'm in a good place. Life is very pretty right now.
To any and all who happen upon this blog: I wish you all the very best of new years. Take care, be well and safe, and keep checking in to see what my silly ass is up to. The door is always open. Happy New Year!

Fornication is one of my favorite words.
I've been hearing a lot of buzz about the Showtime show Californication so I finally decided to buckle down and watch a few episodes. I'm here to say that it is not too bad! It's actually kinda bad ass. Any program that involves phrases like "finger bang", "in the pooper" and features shots of a woman clocking a guy in the face during sex is something that at least deserves a bit of my attention. And if you are fond of shows with absolutely despicable main characters you will find plenty of reasons to like this show. Bonus: Lucy Davis makes an appearance and I think she's swell!
The only check in the negative column? The opening is so totally lame and douche baggy "L.A." that it makes my skin crawl. There are also some transition things that make me want to put a pencil in my eye. I guess I got spoiled with cool opening credits like Dexter and Lost that my standards are somewhat high.
Boo to bad opening credits! Yea to tv shows that show me something new!

I'm going to need a takeback on that one.
Does anyone remember a few posts back when I mentioned that I was now at a maturity level where I could realize that just because my casita was somewhat noisy that didn't mean the Boogie Man was stomping around on my roof? Anyone?
Yeah, I totally take that back. This little house is scary as hell when the wind is blowing. It literally sounds like the structure is being attacked by a gang of Boogie Men and they are this close to getting in. I'm going to go hole myself up in my bedroom til this storm dies down.
Eek!
