Yet another survey from my pal Mattie G.

On a scale from 1 to 10, how good are you at Guitar Hero?
Umm... an 11! On the medium level, which Shot made me feel inadequate for. I still rock harder than any other girl I know, so there!

What tv show do you watch most?
Honestly, I'm watching like zero tv right now. It's always on but I'm rarely actually watching it. I think spending two years and change not doing much else besides watching tv kind of burned me out.

Do you have a job?
Full time fabulousity expert.

If you had a paid vacation to anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Oh my gosh! Someone totally asked me this recently! I'll give the same answer I gave them: A beach resort in Costa Rica or Disney World.

Do you think the guy should always pay?
I don't think that they should always pay, but I do kinda think that they should always be able to pay. Does that make sense?

Have you ever wanted to be on a game show?
No. The pressure!

Randomly click on a song from your playlist.
Always Be My Baby... by David Cook!!!

What's the first line of that song?
"We were as one, babe, for a moment in time and it seemed everlasting that you would always be mine."

Who was your first kiss?
Oh sheesh. A boy named Andrew during a spin the bottle game at a party in middle school. He tasted like Cool Ranch Doritos. ACK!!

Describe your dream house.
A nice, big kitchen with plenty of counter space and a long counter bar, a really lovely bathroom with a big tub, and a huge yard for Owen and friends to play in. Oh! And it would be really cool to have some sort of pond with a little dock for Owen and I to go swimming.

Where did you last go out to eat?
The 66 Diner with Lala.

What did you order?
Grilled ham and cheese and fries with a coke.

Have you ever been in a car wreck?

What do you plan on naming your baby girl?
Huh? However, if I get a little playmate for Owen I'd like a little girl pup and I'd name her Rhodie.

What do you plan on naming your baby boy?
Again with the huh?

What's your musical guilty pleasure?
Music from the Xanadu Motion Picture Soundtrack. Oh my god!!

What was the last book you read?
I'm in the middle of reading High Fidelity.

Are you happy with the way you look?
I'm getting there but I'm not exactly going about it in the healthiest way. Oops.

How long does your morning routine take?
How soon do I have to be ready?

What is the dumbest thing you've ever done?
I'm tempted to say something morose like "Trusting people" or "Giving people too many second chances." but I'm gonna go with something less angsty: The dumbest thing I have ever done was to start smoking and not wearing sunscreen when I was younger.

Do you return the buggies at Wal-Mart?
As opposed to what? Taking them home with me? A la, what the heck?

What is your favorite fast food place?
Honestly? I really don't like fast food... I'll agree with G on this one and say Backyard Burger.

Do you have any plans for tomorrow?
Well, I'm gonna take O for a walk in the mountains, and then I'm gonna do some footwork on getting the theatre incorporated and then I'm going to try to find a cheap used keyboard to buy.

Are there any movies you've seen more than ten times?
Yikes. Ok: Clue, Romancing the Stone, Newsies, Pride and Prejudice, Pulp Fiction, Animalympics, Out of Sight, Lady and the Tramp, Robin Hood (Disney), LIke Water for Chocolate...I don't know! A bunch of other stuff!!

What are your biggest pet-peeves?
People that are stupid, people who waste my time and people who push on my back in a crowd. I can't go anywhere and you pushing only makes me want to cause you harm.

Who is your boyfriend/girlfriend?
Apparently, I'm too awesomely fabulous for things like boyfriends.

What do you usually eat for breakfast?
I usually smoke my breakfast...

Do you like to cook?
No, I love it!

What music genres could the world do without?
I'm not much for that creepy death metal or psychobilly...

What do you want to do for the rest of your life?
Create beautiful art, inspire people, push some boundaries, do things that scare me, love un-self consciously, eat, travel, be with those I love... you know, the usual.

Do you get along with your siblings?
oh hell yes.

Are you good at Sudoku puzzles?
I'm not good at any of those things. But I'm trying to do them anyway.

Are you a pack-rat?
Sort of. I tend to hang onto to things that have sentimental value.

How late did you sleep this morning?
Owen let me sleep until about 8:20 am.

Are you a creative person?
I'd like to think so.

Do you like to sing?
Very much so.

How many songs are on your ipod?
Roughly 1200 songs

What was the last movie you saw in theaters?
The Dark Knight.

Was it any good?
Yes.

What color are your pants?
Grey and blue plaid boxers. They were a screwvenir. *giggle, giggle*

What did you do to celebrate last Valentines Day?
Ha!

Is your house clean?
Yes. It's not always as tidy as I'd like but it is clean.

Do you agree with gay marriage?
Yes.

Do you have any plants in your house?
Yup.

Are you afraid of getting old?
No, I look forward to being like 97 years old and perfectly comfortable with who I am. That type of stuff only comes with age.

What did you have for breakfeast this morning?
Coffee. Smoke. Kiwi.

Who's in the room with you?
Owen's cuddling with me on the couch.

On a scale from 1-10 how's life right now?
Umm... it's about a 5 right now. Somethings are awesome. Somethings are less so.

Do you drink coffee?
Currently, I'm living on the stuff.

Are you allergic to anything?
Why do you want to know? Are you trying to poison me?

ZzzzzzHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Last night, I was tucked in bed, sleeping peacefully, when I had what proved to be a very ridiculous dream. The details of said dream are unimportant, and really? It wouldn't make sense even if I could describe it in perfect detail which I couldn't because it's a dream. I mean, it took place in a cafetorium and I was in the middle of doing a show and there may or may not have been a abnormally large dog...

Regardless! So I have this dream and in it something ridiculous happens and it's so silly and hilarious that I literally wake up laughing. This silly little dream had the Me in the dream cracking up so completely that the Me asleep in my bed was forced out of my dream state and I came crashing back to consciousness, still cracking up.

I think that's the first time that's ever happened to me and let me tell you, loyal readers, it's a really great way to wake up.

Ok, so anyone who knows me knows that I thoroughly enjoy seeing people fall down. The absolute joy I get from watching someone eat it is only beat by watching someone in a mascot costume eat it. I think it may have something to do with the unchanging facial expression?

This video is heaven for me.

200 posts and a dose of pure happiness.

In honor of this being my 200th post here at Blogger, I'm posting my new favorite video. I dare you all to watch this and not have just a bit more faith in the beauty of humanity when it's all said and done. Enjoy!

Rob told me to!

Aquarius (Jan 20-Feb 18)
It's Wallow in Your Envy and Jealousy Week. During this holiday, you may in good conscience explore your covetous resentments and plumb the depths of your longing for what others have attained. Here's the payoff: Giving yourself this perverse pleasure should keep you relatively free from envy and jealousy for the next three months. To get yourself in the mood, read this excerpt from Dave Morrison's poem "Jealous": "I am jealous of those who do stupid things and feel no shame. I am jealous of the dead for their reduced workload, jealous of newborn babies for their clean records. I'm jealous of those older than me for what they know, and those younger than me for what they don't. I am jealous of dogs who don't think about living, or dying, they just do."

In an effort to heed Rob's words of wisdom, I'm going to take this opportunity to get in touch with my green eyed monster friend!

-I am now and will always be jealous of Huck's innate ability to talk to people. Not only can she talk to whomever, wherever, she also has the talent to make the person she's speaking to feel quite special. And the gal can literally talk to ANYONE about ANYTHING. She's also got the annoyingly wonderful habit of knowing just what to say and when to say it. She's actually made homemade marshmallows! She's one of the most beautiful women I've ever known and yet she won't bat an eye at making a complete ass of herself and allowing me to document it. She's got this quiet confidence that just sort of shines from her that I wish I could bottle up and use for my own. She's insanely smart and knows at least something about almost everything. Meh!

-I genuinely covet Q's gift for accessorizing. She takes some risks fashion wise but always manages to pull it off without looking or seeming like a fashion snob. Her choices are not so outrageous as to seem weird but rather leave her looking a bit more polished than myself. And! It's all done on a budget! Very cool. I'm jealous of Q's ability to give 100% to whatever she's doing even if she hates it. I feel like Q is always a stellar employee. She always puts her friends needs in front of her own, she throws a MEAN party, and I sense a lack of fear in her that I wish I could make my own.

- I envy my brother's proficiency with words. Not only is he a stupidly good writer but he can tell a story like nobody's business. To boot, I'm also very jealous of how funny he is. Hands down, now and through the years, P's at the very top of my "Funniest People I Know" list. I know a butt load of funny people and P is funnier than all of them combined. That's a feat, trust me.

-I'm jealous of my other brother's dedication to doing what he wants to do, when he wants to do it, how he wants to do it. I look up to and respect the fact that when other folks try to tell him how he should live his life, Javi just kinda listens to it and continues doing his own thing.

-I'm envious of how secure Sassy is with herself. I'm also jealous of the fact that she can run several miles and not need a trip to the ER afterwards, her crazy good vocal abilities, her aptitude at improving, her mad skillz in the kitchen, the fact that she's good at everything, including the stuff she hates to do! I'd sell my children to the devil for arms like hers, and there is literally not a single person I know who doesn't lurve her. I often wonder what it would feel like to be that loved.

-I covet AB's ability to tell it like it is, her height, her flaming red hair, her wicked good vocal ability, her unbelievable intelligence in areas that are completely foreign to me, her commitment to being healthy, her ability to "play the game" job wise, her super cool fashion sense, the amount of dedication and determination with which she attacks things.

-I'm jealous of Mel's ability to take the high road, of her infinite wisdom in all aspects of life, the way she continues to love and grow regardless of how she's been hurt in the past, her deliriously beautiful vocal talents, how she stands up and fights for the ones she loves, her serene inner calm, her ability to use color and materials to create her own space, her eye for the aesthetic.

-I envy the way Kiki will jump head first into everything she does, the way she will risk things that I'm too scared to, her lack of fear in all aspects of her life, her unbelievably generous heart and nature, her lust for life, her boldness, her sense of humor (she's held the #2 spot on my list since I've known her), the way she loves the things that she loves with all of her heart.

-I covet Donald's seemingly endless knowledge of all things pop culture related, the fact that he can fix just about anything, his mashed potato skills and the fact that he always looks so cool.

-I am stupidly jealous of Frank's abilities as an actor, his fearlessness in everything he does, the complete lack of self doubt that I see in him, his commitment to his rather hedonistic lifestyle, his ability to put it all on the line for the things that he believes in, his willingness to trust a short Bolivian girl enough to move across the country for her.

-I envy my dear Mattie G's childlike enthusiasm, his willingness to seek out the good and beautiful in people, his mad skillz with instruments, his endless persistence in obtaining the things he wants.

-I'm jealous of the way Lala creates opportunities for herself, of the artist she is and is becoming, of the commitment she shows to making this world a better place, the fact that she's a little white girl from CO and she speaks Spanish better than I do and she's fluent in Portuguese. I envy how comfortable she is in her own skin.

Ok, whew! It's a bit exhausting to think of all of the things that make you jealous about the people you know. I may have to revisit this topic, because there is still plenty of stuff for me to be jealous about!

What are you all jealous of?

I'm a fan of surprises. Surprise birthday parties, even though I've yet to be at one that really worked well. Unexpected gifts or visits. Surprise visits are the best! Having someone pop in for a spell? Fantastic! Surprise endings? Love em! Shanghai Surprise? Bring it on!!

Every now and then I find myself in the position where I am well and truly surprised by someone. They exhibit certain behaviors and I draw certain conclusions and just when I think I've got them pegged and I've worked myself up into an unimaginable tizzy, there they go and surprise me by turning my hypothesis on its head. Obviously, sometimes this can be bad. A skeezeball will slip past the radar and it hits me like a Mach truck. WHAM! ASSHOLE!!! Truth be told, this is more often than not the case. Maybe I'm not the best judge of character? And perhaps, in the recent past, I've started to become aware of this and have maybe been on the watch for it? "Ojo al charque" as my Dad would say...

So you can imagine my surprise (Ha! Surprise!) when someone comes along and surprises me for the better! I expect yucky behavior, I expect the worst, the nasty, the ugly. And what do I get? A big heap of lovely!

Well played, Tres. Well played indeed, kiddo.

A/N Umm... yeah. A Google Image search for "surprise" leads to some very... interesting images. Blech.

Oh Bear, I love you!!

This commercial makes me so very, very happy.
